Premature Kitten Is Adopted by Surrounding Cats
In this heartwarming video, a premature kitten is found roadside and taken to a veterinarian for a checkup before being placed in an incubator among several foster cats. The caretaker brings the kitten to show to each of the foster cats, but because the kitten did not have any fur on account of being born prematurely, none of these cats gave the kitten a mother's warm and securing touch.
The caretaker was advised by the veterinarian to gently rub the kitten's body at timed-based intervals to help regulate blood flow. With each light touch, the kitten showed signs of life, emitting gentle meows. The caretaker also kept the kitten covered to keep him warm.
The kitten was fed with kitten milk replacement seven times daily, as none of the foster cats hadn't accepted this kitten. The caretaker worked hard to help give the kitten a chance to grow healthy and strong.
One day, one foster cat went to approach the kitten, but another foster cat beat him to it and meowed, possibly signaling that it was protecting the kitten.
As the weeks passed, the kitten grew in a coat of orange fur. Even with fur and resembling a kitten much more so than his bald premature self from earlier, none of the foster cats would accept him.
But then the most-affectionate foster cat, Mama Ruby, began grooming the kitten with her little pink tongue. Moments afterward, another foster cat began tending to the kitten, grooming him with care and love. Still, however, the caretaker had to provide the kitten with kitten milk replacement, as total acceptance by any foster cat had not yet come to fruition.
Before long, the kitten's eyes peeled open, and he began to walk with the full power of sight. The caretaker brought him to one of the female foster cats, who immediately groomed the kitten as if he were one of her own.
